New Simply Sassy Blog!!... 01/06/2011
I’m pretty excited! Sugar Nellie launched a new blog for the Simply Sassy stamps today!...How fun is that :) !! I’m so thrilled that people seem to really enjoy using my girls and giving them a new spin with their own coloring and creativity! I can’t wait for the next ones to come out...I think they are my favorites to date:)!... I am going to do a little mini Sassy Celebration of my own on here, and offer some sweet prizes for someone towards the end of the month... I have some Sassy character stamps and will add some pretty extras for card making/scrapbooking as well. Just a peek at what stamps will be included...Well, here’s two:)   I am teaching a scrapbooking class at my church on the 11th of Jan and thought it would be fun to see if the girls might be down for some stamping as well...I think they are such a nice alternative to the stickers I use to put all over my scrapbook pages...(I admit, I was a sticker maniac). Niamh even used one of my girls for a school project...The teacher sent it home with a note asking who drew it (oops!)...I went in and explained it was a stamp she colored in herself! HAHAHA...Her teacher started laughing...She thought I had done the whole project for Niamhy!...Oh well...maybe school work is not the best stamping application...but I have thought of others...even used them on my shipping materials as a nice little decoration:) So, here is a link to the new blog opened up by some fantastic ladies at Sugar Nellie:)...Simply Sassy Blog!  Hi everyoneJ...Today there is a blog hop over at Sugar Nellie for the release of Simply Sassy stamps #3!!...They are drawings inspired by the Twilight characters;)...I am so excited each time my designs come out as stamps; just LOVE to see what others do with them. It always gives me a nice perspective when someone else colors in an image of mine. So, if you haven’t stopped over just yet, please go visit and see the new girls...and boysJ! I think my favorites are the sporty gal and boy, which were inspired by a couple of vampires that are really good at baseball, even in a thunderstormJ!!...Rosalie and Emmitt.     To see Alice and Jasper-inspired stamps, go hop along the blogs...it's quite fun, and you don't even need ridiculous bunny ears like my girl to do it;)... Speaking of boys, I’m going to try and add a bunch of little guys to my ETSY shop after the holidays. What are boys you’d like to see??...What would they be wearing/doing...??...Right now my ideas are floating around airplanes, guitars, headphones, and maybe even a poet. Today was a fun day at the computer! I checked out the Sugar Nellie blog like I do each morning and was so excited to see some more of my Simply Sassy girls posted on there!!...YAY!...They are too adorable as stamps...and it’s so fun to see how someone else colors your artwork—what an inspiration! J It sort of brings new life to an image, and I get new ideas each time I see a colored in Sassy stamp. Here is one of the pieces that was made into a stamp...I changed her choice of fishing shoes for the stamp-- and I have to say, I love her new shoes even better than her rainboots;)...Check her out here.  Wow—my weekend literally flew by in a blink!!...We had two trick-or-treating nights (one on actual Halloween and one is a tradition at my mom and dad’s)...A girl movie night at my sister’s...and some travel to see family as well...Needless to say, I never got around to posting the winner for my October giveaway...But I did have Niamh pull a name from all the girls who entered by Friday...(Notice my NY Giants hat;)...GO GMEN!!...Sorry, I couldn’t resist;)...    SUE HANRAHANJ... My giveaway this month is a “Happy Mail” sort of idea—just a box of goodies from me to you!...Sue, please leave a comment with which character you’d like from my shop in a 5x7J. I’ll get your goodies mailed off in the week. Some things to look forward to—some yummy hot chocolate mix, super cute fingerless gloves (I have a pair—LOVE ‘em!), a plaque from my shop, a vampire button to celebrate the release of Eclipse (Can’t wait!!), a couple cute Petshops to decorate your desk with-- I’m addicted to them...yeah, I haven’t grown up muchJ, and a few other fun things... Here is a Simply Sassy stamp I made into a little card for my hubbyJ...HAHA...Actually, I thought it would make a cheeky, sort of joking with you (wink) card for a husband...I don't have all the fancy cardmaking skills I've seen on the Sugar Nellie blog (Everything posted on there is AAAAmazing!), but I liked coloring her in...She has the hair I dream aboutJ...  I am going to do a fun, sort of secret giveaway for this month...The only thing you’ll know for sure right now is that you’re getting to choose any one character from my shop in a size 5x7...The rest of the goodies are up in the air...(not really, I know what I’ll sendJ)...I’m going to send the winner a little tiny box of surprises...just a girly, fun thing to get in the mailJ...I will close the giveaway in one week, Friday Oct 29th. Then I’ll post a pic of all the fun things the winner will receive!... I received the set of six Simply Sassy stamps I designed for Sugar Nellie today! I couldn’t wait to get them, partly because it’s the first “commercial” use of my art and I wanted them in my possession to really know they are out thereJ...They are really fun!! I’ve never used stamps before—NEVER...So, I was a little nervous to color one in for the first time. I mean, it is my artwork...so it should be easy, right?!...Mmmm...Not reallyJ...I don’t have the right markers; most of mine are not fine enough. And I didn’t use the right black to actually transfer the rubber image in the first place...But, after a few tries, I made one for my daughter’s lunchbox note tomorrowJ. Her best friend is a little Spanish girl, long dark hair, pretty as can be—so I colored her after “Belle”J. She can’t wait for lunch tomorrow!   It’s far from perfect...but I can’t wait to better my coloring skills and use these girls on all kinds of new projects! I’ve slowly been adding some new artwork to my ETSY shop with a bit of a different style to it...Maybe it’s my other side coming outJ-- the edgier, more risky girl in me;)...I love to draw fashion and pinup girls...They sort of just pop into my head, and I love to make them a bit sexy, older, even humorous...For the girls who want something a bit more grown up.   I am trying to accomplish getting my blog a little more, well, how I envision it in my head...It may take some time, but I will get this figured out. Like to add some more fashion posts, as I really do have quite an addiction to anything and everything fashion-related. I also have to fix almost all the pics in my Etsy shopL...The new wider pages (which are very, very nice!) made my pics so grainy. Blah!...And to top off the mountain of “TO DO”, I’m going to visit my little sis in upstate NY this weekend...Won’t get to start my list till MondayJ. Oh well....I’m looking forward to a weekend of just brothers/sisters/and kiddies...All four of us (and our spouses) are quite child-like ourselves.
