Over the past couple of months, my younger brother has gotten the hubby into four wheeling...So much so, that we had our own quad within a few weeks:)...Being a sporty girl myself, I wanted to see what all the hype was about, so I went out riding with Phil, my brother, and his girlfriend...Oh my gosh-- I looooved it!!  I could ride every day...It's such a blast!...I've managed to get out a few more times without intruding on the "guy time"...and so far (fingers crossed:) haven't hit anything, flipped off, or wheelied (sp?)...(Though I've probably just jinxed myself)...

I started thinking that I'd like to do a tomboy character for my ETSY shop, as there has to be girls out there like myself who'd rather get dirty than get their nails done...I began with my hair/eye color...an outfit I'd love to wear, and then....BAM-- she just seemed to scream skater girl-- so I threw a skateboard in the background and that was that.  Sometimes the artwork decides for you what direction to go in:)...Oh well...I'll have to do another for myself.:)

I'd love to do a character after a reader or ETSY store browser...Leave a comment and describe WELL what your girl would look like (doesn't have to be you-- she can be any girl in your life!)...leave hair/eye color...hair length...and a style (i.e., tomboy, punk, goth, girly, hippie, country, rocker....whatever!)...I'll pick one that sounds terribly fun to draw and will title it after whatever name you'd like:).
Winner gets a free 11 x 14 size print....as a thanks for some fun inspiration!

OPEN till FRIDAY AFTERNOON:)

So, be sure to leave a comment-- it's always fun to design something personal-- and to receive it for free:D

XOXO, Krista

Hello! I love your artwork! My girl would have long golden blond hair, green eyes and a pale complexion. She loves the forest, and secretly wishes she were a little woodland fairy.

Oh Kirsta where would I start, I want you to do so many different characters but for now I am happy to drool over the many you have listed on etsy. I am a huge twilight fan so manybe that would be something, maybe an Edward to stand next to your Bella :)

I have just discovered your artwork through Sugar Nellie and I think its amazing. I'd love to see a character of my daughter. She has very long blonde hair and Hazel eyes. One of her hobbies is handbell ringing so she might make a sweet Christmas character?

I'm so looking forward to these arriving at the House Of Sugar. I can't think of a character to suggest, you already tick so many boxes so well over on Etsy... dunno maybe a cat and dog - we Brits are great animal lovers.

Hi there Krista, nice to meet you, am so chuffed you are joining Sugar Nellie and I can't wait to get my hands on your stamp designs.

My eldest daughter Willow, I think, would make a fab character for you. She's got long very wavy thick brown hair, dark brown eyes and has the face of an angel, one minute she can be the loveliest little girl in the world, and the next she can be the devil incarnate. She loves to be a pink girly girl, but on the flip side she also loves to be a bit of a rough and tumble adventurer. She's very independent, knows exactly what she does and doesn't want and she's not afraid to tell you anything. She is a fabulous big sister to my youngest, Faith who is her complete opposite. Faith has long, poke-straight blonde hair and the most beautiful big blue eyes, she's a real mummy's girl - but really all she wants to be is ..... just like her big sister.

Gosh, I didn't half waffle on there lol. Glad to have met you and can't wait to see everything you do in the future
best of luck
Debbi

Krista! Your work is amazing! Love, love, love it. Can't wait to see the rubber that Karen chooses!
My daughter was all tomboy as a child and played on a competitive soccer team. It was so cute to see such "tough" little soccerplayers all with super high ponytails and bows. They were referred to as the "blonde" team because they all had blonde hair.

Oh my goodness, I'm so pleased that Karen has discovered you and I can't wait until your designs hit the House of Sugar. Congratulations to you!! Believe me when I say I'll be buying them all!!! Of course, the person I would love to see immortalised in rubber would be my son, Sam - he's 9 now and quite big for his age but he's still got the face of an angel and the blondest hair. When he's all dressed in his jeans and funky t-shirts he looks like a proper 'little man'. I never think there are enough great boy characters out there!! I could always supply a photo!?!? Hugs, Marie xx

Hi Krista, another Sugar Nellie addict waiting to get my hands on your superb artwork. My ideal for a rubber stamp would be my youngest grand daughter she is 9 and has the biggist brownist eyes with lashes you could sweep the floor with, the curliest long brown hair and a smile to melt the the hardest heart. She loves Highland dancing and her 12 hens(she takes care of them herself and keeps the egg money too)

My daughter Amanda is 13, she is part tomboy and part girly girl. she has shoulder lenghth brown hair with sun streaks from the summer, the kind of hair that is straight with a touch of curl (mine is super curly-always wanted hair like hers). Brown eyes, thick eyebrows and a beautiful smile. Loves tank tops, crochet type tops and matching different patterns. She looks grown up but is still a little girl inside. That in between stage that is so hard. She plays the acoustic guitar, loves art and usually has a smile on her face. Except when she sneers, as her hormones have taken over since she turned 13. I sneer back and then she laughs and looks like a sweet girl again.

HUGE warm welcome to you Krista! I adore your drawings and am delighted your talents have been discovered. I will also eagerly await your images turn into rubbah!!

I would love to see a REAL girl...you know...some-one who is NOT stick thin, she also wears glasses, is a bit tom-boyish, has really thick, long dark brown CURLY hair, blue eyes, loves sneakers and jeans and is shy! bx

Hi Krista...I am so geeked about your new line becoming part of the House of Sugar!
We are awaiting you with opened hearts and pocketbooks(:
There are so many different images flying through my head right now that I don't really know how to tell you just one.
I think images with curly hair are the very best to color because they add dimension-I mean lots of wild curly hair-and probably red. Of course to go with that you need green eyes with little flecks of gold in them and freckles across the bridge of the nose. I'm thinking maybe a tomboy that is trying to push her wild hair up in a cap to play football with the boys. She's trying to be one of them with her baggy, loose, ratty clothes but her pure female essence just can't help but shine through as she is bent to either catch or toss a football. You could easily then add a boy to this scene that is trying to act cool and not notice she is actually a girl...like she's just one of the guys but he's not quite pulling it off. Don't know if I put this in words very well but I can see it in my mind very well...I just can't draw...lol!
Anyway your work is fab and I can't wait to get my itchy fingers on it.
Hugz,
Cheri

Hi! Krista from another Sugar Nellie fan. Have just had a look at all your fabulous artwork. Where to start I do not know they are all great. Looking forward to seeing what Karen has in store for us from you over at the HOS. She has certainly been teasing us with little bits of your work. Can`t wait to get some of your artwork in rubber!! Welcome on board!!
My daughter is tall and slender with long blonde hair and hazel eyes. Has always loved all kinds of sport and the outdoors and well animals we had all sorts cats dogs rabbits guinea pigs....

My daughter Annie (aka Annabelle) needs to be captured in rubber, since it's really the only way to actually see her long enough to focus! She's an amazingly spirited eight-year-old that marches to the beat of a different yellow...

She's got lovely caramel-colored skin, shaggy long brown hair and big brown eyes. She's an anime character brought to life -- with her cute plaid mini skirts, leggings and funky shoes. She loves Pokemon, dogs and writing in secret journals.

She loves life and shares that spirit with everyone around -- whether they like it or not! =)

Hi Kirsta, can't wait to see you stamps at the house of sugar your images are such fun. If I was to think of a character, it would be a girl with spunk, not girly but very practical, short elf cut hair big hazel eyes and into things like gardening, car maintainance but also cooking and craft , a bit chaotic but gets things done.

Or how about a boy mad about computers tall and big build fair colouring ad full of fun too.

Thanks for the chance and nice to meet you.

Hi Krista, welcome to the house of sugar, you`re gonna fit right in, and your stamps are going to sell real well! as they are gorgeous! (and i want them all!even before i see them! lol)
I was a tomboy when i was a lot younger!(not telling you how many years!) and i`d run around the farm we lived on, barefoot, with straggly long brown hair, sunbleached in different coloured streaks,
my jeans were always bleached and holey, from climbing trees, used to love to help hay making in the summer! also was suntanned with loads of freckles! lol
good luck in the future, (but you won`t need it! lol)
love angie xx

Krista your art is Fabulous!! I ca,'r wait to see what art is picked to be put in rubber. So very many I would chose. Know Karen will pick many we all love...she has the eye!
I woud love to see my daughter in a drawing. She is a nature and Dog lover. She loves to go hiking with her Labradoodle(love that name)who is curly red like a shaggy dog. My daughter has beautiful below the shoulder soft curl blonde/brown hair that gets blonder in the summer. She tans very easily. Her complexion and skin is so very smooth and beautiful she shines. Really! She has big brown eyes and long lashes. She looks radiant in turqoise blue. She is the sweetest and most gentlest person. Soft spoken and caring. She is a RN Nurse and loves taking care of people. Thanks for the consideration of her for a drawing.
I am sure you will love the house of Sugar. Love your Art and look forward to seeing more of it.
Congratulations!
